We hope to welcome you to our tranquil guest farm, just 2,3km from Parys. You may remember us as Lavender Hills, owned and operated by the same family, we now operate under the much loved name Jackalberry Guest Farm, offering the same guest centric experience we always did!

Our accommodation is nestled amongst many trees, after which the rooms are named. We have over 300 bird species to be admired. Jackalberry Guest Farm offers a large pool area, gardens to explore as well as a play area for children to enjoy. We are pet friendly.

We where a group of friends that stayed over for a weekend and we absolutely loved Sharon, the dogs and Lavender Hills! We stayed in the Jackalberry Creek Lodge with 9 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, self catering kitchen and private lapa. It was the perfect location for us to celebrate and have fun

There are very few dog friendly AND disabled friendly places in and around Jhb. Parys being fairly close we decided to revisit the farm after being there at a bike rally earlier in the year but this time with mom who was in a wheelchair and the doggies..two busy jack Russell's. Sharon greeted us on arrival and we were delighted to find our accommodation was spacious and had a wide verandah for the dogs. Mom had a gentle ramp (the spar in Parys had a wheelchair ramp which was around 90 degrees!) And with little help she could get around easily. We took the dogs for a walk but kept them on leads as they are not yet socialized. Nice braai area, good sleeping area. Two spacious rooms either enough room for the wheelchair and bathroom wide enough to get the chair in. 10 points for that! Just two comments keep more blankets in the room and the Free State cold is like no other and checkout dstv option of daily rate for guests. We use it in our holiday accommodation in Margate and guests enjoy not missing their favourite programs. You can switch it on and off at no extra cost as guests check in and out. Being able to only watch ETV and SABC 1 once it was bedtime was a little disappointing. But maybe next time I'll bring a book. In the morning we had coffee outside and loved the sound of many different birds. Definitely a bird watching farm and will come back again in summer so the dogs can have more outside time. Sharon is a great host and very accommodating. Nothing too much trouble for her and she is always happy to see you when you arrive and I love being remembered as a returning guest. More places should make a point of that. It's a great customer experience

We arrived at short notice to be warmly greeted by our host Sharon and shown our immaculate room Augusta...just perfect for our needs. Lavender Hills has a vast range of accommodation for all group sizes...each having it's own unique style. The location to Parys is a short drive of a few K's away....the town itself was a hive of activity with quaint eateries and shops...a bit like Franschoek in a way. The only downside to Parys is the litter problem...our other favorite towns in SA namely Clarens and Dullstroom seem to take more pride in the state of their streets.

A great weekend which commenced with a friendly and efficient reception to the resort. The room was clean and well equipped, the tranquil environment was great and the close proximity to Parys is a bonus. The grounds are well cared for and the pool, which is private, was clean and the area well cared for. Thank you for a great stay and good service - you exceeded our expectations!

Well managed, pretty property offering self catering in Parys Great place and well priced. Our unit had 2 bedrooms, with 2 en suite bathrooms, cozy kitchen and lounge with patio and undercover private braai area. Lovely neat gardens and pool area - great for family weekend away. The only thing was the hot tap for the bath tub wasn't working (a small maintenance repair that needs to be done). Thanks for the great hospitality at Lavender Hills guest farm!
